Gopher Motorsports

The Frame and Suspension subsystem is in charge of designing some of the most critical components on the car. We design and weld our own steel tube frame, and manufacture carbon fiber monocoques. We are also in charge of the suspension, choosing tires, wheel assembly, and other components that help transmit loads from the tires through the suspension. Our members gain hands-on experience through machining, fixturing of the frame, and assembly of suspension components. The frame and suspension subteam works with other subteams to provide a platform that accommodates designs critical for the rest of the car.
